This week, the president of our community had the privilege of being received by President Anna Erra of the Parliament of Catalonia and, as part of the solidarity delegation of the main Jewish communities in Europe, by President Amir Ohana of the Knesset in Israel.
This experience gave him the opportunity to appreciate how, despite the different contexts in which Catalonia and Israel live, they are still very different.e are peoples who share and defend common values of progress, freedom, security and the defence of life. As leaders of democratic parliaments, they promote debate, peace and universality of ideals, principles essential to the societies they represent.
The president of the CIB presented an insignia with the flags of Catalonia and Israel, expressing the hope and support of the entire community that all those kidnapped by the terrorist group Hamas will be released on 7.10.23 and hopes to receive both of them as guests of honour in the centenary Jewish Community of Catalonia.
